Intro:
Her very first memory... is filled with snow, terror, blood and vampires. Menaced by a vampire and saved by another, she is an orphan who has been adopted by the Chairman of a prestigious boarding school called Cross Academy. Meet Yuki, a spirited girl who adores her saviour, the dashing vampire called Kaname. Yuki's friend, Zero, on the other hand, suffers from a bitter past and hates vampires to the core. I've just bought this book and I have to say, in all honesty, that it is by far the best manga I've ever read. Zero is mine, anyone who thinks otherwise or wishes to claim him for herself, word of advise: Keep it to yourself.
After that deadly warning, I just want to say, be rest assured, there're a LOT of drool-worthy guys in the book and I wouldn't say Zero's the best-looking guy in the manga anyway. It all depends on your taste, I guess. They cater to a variety of types so every girl can be satisfied... Heheheh...
I love the book for its boldness to draw blood in such a gruesome, yet pure way... It's the way blood should be drawn.. The author Matsuri Hino have achieved such a fantastic artistic skill that I feel drawn to the blood dripping from the vampires' lips... Makes me want to be a vampire myself... (Kaname-sama, bite me please! Yoroshiku onegaishimasu!)
As serious as the storyline is, there are still some silly yet adorable scenes that is the characteristic of manga. However, these scenes are kept to the very minimum. The seriousness of the manga is what's so special about it.
I'm definitely going to buy the next volume when it comes out. Since the first volume was released in this month, I guess I'll have to wait a long time for the next one.
No matter, now I can collect 2 mangas: Genbu Kaiden and Vampire Knight.

Kaname Kuran *is the name rite?* is too cold/sexy to be for me...
