It's not really my first day of work, because I'm not paid yet. It was the first day of training. I was really not interested in learning the whole of process. It was so difficult for me to get the info into my head and put it into practice. I was constantly spacing out during the whole thing. I was at a loss at what to do. Should I continue or not? I haven't sign a contract at that time. Today is my third training day and we actually got to attend to real-life customers. My first customer spoke like an american but his name was SO chinese! Maybe he's a chi who grew up in America? Anyway, he knew absolutely nothing about KFC and Pizza Hut meals and I had to tell him every single thing and repeat some things twice before he would order. But I find it pretty fun. Just in case though, when I signed the contract, I told Sonia (she's in charge of our schedules- Her name's Sonia Rykiel seh. I have no idea what race she is- looks like Ice's type and she's so nice and kawaii! ) that I can only work *11 am - 3 pm on Mon, Tues and Thurs* *11 am - 9 pm split-shift Wed and Fri* *5 pm - 9 pm Sun* But of course, it depends on demand so I won't be working all those hours. Steve, my interviewer cum manager, said they would probably need me for 3 days. All in all, I think I'll survive. The people there are very friendly! I just hope I won't have to handle difficult and fussy customers. P.S. I won't earn much. 3 days 4 hrs per day at $4 per hour. Do your math.

I wanted to look neat and not too casual so I wore a baju kurung that was not too grand and my pink heels. I didnt wear stockings because I thought I was going to be late so I didnt bother to search for it.
I was 15 mins early when I reach Outram MRT, it was pouring and I didnt bring an umbrella. I had to walk in the rain very very quickly to take the bridge to get across to the bus stop for the shuttle service. Halfway there, I realised I could've walk under the shelter but, what the fuc*, I was already wet + blisters at the ankle area, oh you know what I'm talking about.
The queue for the shuttle service was unfortunately loooooooooooong, but thank goodness the interval between buses was 2-3 mins. How unlucky I was that day! No matter at what speed the bus went at, I still couldnt board one; they didnt allow standing so only a tiny amount of people could board. It was 5 mins to showtime so I called Ms Serene Tan to inform her that I would be a few mins late. She said it was ok and reminded me again at which stop I should alight and sweetly said "See you later!"
I was at level 4 and I called her because I couldnt enter unless the door was opened from inside. She led me into a room that looks like a library, where I filled a form *thank ken-taichou!* while she looked through my certs and report book. Then there was frustration in her voice because I didint have a PSLE cert and said, "Then how can I know your grades? Can you enlighten me?" I patiently explained it to her and oh how astonished she was(me too), she just knew that mad. students didnt take PSLE last time and showed her my prelisms results, and she went, "Oooo..."

Suddenly everybody in the room was talking about blood.
Ms Serene Tan: "Aiyoo! Whose blood is that?" Ms Indian lady: "Donno lah..." Ms Chinese lady & Mr Malay guy: "Ey, be careful with the blood!"
Then Ms Tan brought me down to level 1 to meet the interviewer, the old "Mrs Radioactive Chief". Ms Tan left and Mrs Radioactive Chief led me down a corridor full of sick old people and we finally reached a corner.
Mrs Radioactive Chief: "You sit down here first, sorry, it's quite a short notice, i havent even look at your resume, let me look through your form first ok?"
I sat down on a chair facing the cleaners room when I realised around me there was several "WARNING! RADIOACTIVE" signs and all the old people were looking at me.
tick tock tick tock a lady walk past me with red dots on her white uniform
Mrs Radioactive Chief's head popped out of a WARNING! RADIOACTIVE room and called me in. I hesitated before i enter, and when i did, WHOA! THEY HAD THIS HUGE MACHINE YOU SEE IN THE PYHSICS TEXTBOOK UNDER TOPIC ELECTROMAGNETIC SPCTRUM WHICH THEY USE TO KILL CANCEROUS CELLS and then Mrs Radioactive only asked me 2-3 Qs and then she explained abt the job and how she couldnt gurantee that she would take me in and GAME OVER.
